A quick buyer's guide to finding the right kart for your family.

1. Match the Engine Size to the Rider

• 80-110cc — young riders, parental speed controls recommended
• 125-200cc — teens and smaller adults, trail-ready power
• 200cc+ — full-size two-seaters for adults and families

2. Look for Key Safety Features

• Full roll cage with padded bars
• Seat belts or 4-point harnesses
• Speed limiter or governor for young riders
• Hydraulic disc brakes

3. Think About Where You'll Ride

Flat yard riding needs less power and suspension than wooded trails or hilly terrain. Independent front suspension and bigger rear tires make a big difference off-road.
